Did everyone have a wonderful Labor Day weekend? We loved hearing from so many readers over the weekend regarding our recent launch of Open Door Shop. Thank you for all of the support and feedback!

Today we wanted to take you on a little tour of the website. When you first enter our site, you will see scrolling banners...a recent collection of lifestyle shots and featured one-of-a-kind items. Below that you will see "Leslie and Marion's Picks," which are our weekly selection of our favorite items.

Now, let's go over the stuff that you might not notice when you first visit the shop, like the My Account tab. The My Account tab allows you to checkout faster, track your orders, create a wishlist and issue a return. Basically, it is the "brain" behind your order! Did you know we have gift certificates? Oh yeah! So if you are not sure what to get for your friend's wedding...buy them a gift certificate by clicking on the Gift Certificate tab (duh!).

Snapshot: Hostess Gifts

Happy Monday! My husband and I packed our bags and headed to his hometown in Georgia this weekend.  Saturday night was actually supposed to be our engagement party, but back in January we decided to run away and get hitched! We eloped! So instead of an engagement party, it shifted into a marriage celebration! Thirty couples hosted this party (yes...3-0). So, when it came time to finding a gift for all of them, I had to get creative. We decided on something from Charleston and you can't really go wrong with food! I decided to give Charleston Rice from Luquire Farms. Rice is symbolic of weddings and it is extremely useful!

To personalize the gift, I created gift tags on Minted (my favorite source for all things paper). Then, I used twine to pull it all together.  Voila! When it was all said and done, I spent less then $5 on each gift and they were a hit!
